(Alhambra, CA) Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are assisting the Alhambra Police Department after the body of an Asain woman was found early Saturday morning at a local park in nearby Alhambra.

A passerby discovered the dead woman's body near the back of Story Park, located at 210 North Chaple Avenue in Alhambra, adjacent to a Flood Control Channel.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 31-year-old Shi Donglei of San Gabriel.  She was found in a heavy brush area at the park.

The body of Donglei was found at 4:30 a.m., when the Alhambra Police Department responded to the call.

The cause of death is unknown pending an investigation of the Los Angeles Coroner's Office.

Story Park is very popular for local families, and is located right next to a crowded Senior Citizen housing complex.   Story Park includes an open grass area, picnic tables, playground equipment, barbecues, restrooms and a ball field.

It is also home to the Joslyn Adult Center. Located at the south end of the park, the Center includes meeting rooms, kitchen facilities, restrooms and outdoor tennis courts.

If anyone here in our community has more information about this case, they are being asked to call Sheriff's Homicide Detectives at (323) 890-5500.

Also, if you have a photo of Shi Donglei, and any additional information that I can share with the community here about her, please feel free to send it to me at RREconomy@aol.com
