LOS ANGELES -

Political shockwaves are being felt all over Pico Rivera City Hall today.

Former Pico Rivera Mayor Ron Beilke, and a Central Basin Water District executive,  was officially charged on Wednesday with two felony counts and six misdemeanors stemming from his time on the city council, according to court documents.

Deputy District Attorney Sandi Roth of the Public Integrity Division said Beilke, 50, is charged with one felony count each of perjury and conflict of interest. He also is charged with four misdemeanor counts of conflict of interest and two misdemeanor counts of accepting a gift in excess of the legal value.

His arraignment was postponed until March 8 in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. The defendant was charged yesterday in a felony complaint for arrest warrant.

Prosecutors allege that in his capacity as councilman, between 2006 and 2008, Beilke voted to approve three contracts for construction work in an intersection immediately adjacent from his privately owned Weinerschnizel franchise.

At the time of voting on these contracts, the defendant also was allegedly engaged in negotiations with the developer of the adjacent commercial property where he was going to lease space to open a coffee shop.

Beilke also voted to approve a contract between the City of Pico Rivera and Krikorian Movie Theaters while purportedly accepting gifted movie tickets from the company.

In 2008, Beilke allegedly accepted movie tickets valued at more than $3,400 from Krikorian Theater and then underestimated the value of the gift on his Statement of Economic Interest which he certified under penalty of perjury.

Beilke was elected to serve on the Pico Rivera City Council in 2005. His four-year term concluded last November when he lost his bid for re-election.

If convicted of all counts, Beilke faces a maximum term of seven years, eight months in state prison.

Thank the LORD for Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley for making this possible, you know Mr. Cooley is now running for Attorney General here in California.  Just think about all the political bad boyz he could bag from Sacramento.  Go STEVE GO!

Look out boys and girls at CITY HALLS everywhere, you could be next!  I have been reporting on these criminal acts for over 2 years, and I am glad that Justice is being served....finally!

Randy you should look into Rick Ramirez and the Pot Shop that he owns in Santa Fe Springs at the corner of Stage and Rosecrams called Tri City Patients Group. He has been going around and bragging about it to certain people and handing out cards at the Stop and Go in Norwalk on Pioneer near his home. Seems Rick cannot stay away from trouble. First the "incident" that the Sheriff's department will not release a report on because he is considered law enforcement and now this. It keeps getting better.
