There is a guy running around nearby Cypress pretending to be a "police officer," and he needs to be stopped before his brazen crimes are taken to another level.

(CYPRESS, CA)
Hey, our friends over at the City of Cypress and Cypress Police Department wants all of us to help them find a "creepy" guy running around here.

On Monday,  at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 17 year-old male victim came to the Cypress Police Department to report being a victim of a sexual battery.

The victim, whose identity will remain confidential, said he was traveling southbound on Valley View from Orange in the City of Cypress, when he needed to use his cell phone.

He said he pulled over on a side street off of Valley View so as to not violate the cell phone law and was contacted by the suspect who verbally identified himself as an off-duty police officer.  (The map here is the location of where the incident took place).

The suspect then took the victim’s cell phone and driver's license and told him to pull into the parking lot of the Dalton's Restaurant (9575 Valley View) just across the street from where the victim had originally pulled over. The victim, still believing the driver was an off-duty police officer, pulled into the restaurant parking lot and the suspect followed behind. While in the parking lot of the restaurant, the suspect used the ruse of conducting a pat-down search to sexually assault the victim several times. The victim at this point realized the driver was not an off-duty police officer and became very scared. Eventually the suspect returned the
victim's drivers license and cell phone and allowed him to leave.

The victim was not hurt in the incident. The suspect, if identified, would be facing charges of molesting a child under 18 years-old, false impersonation of a police officer, kidnapping, and sexual battery. Anyone with information pertaining to this case is encouraged to call the Cypress Police Department, Detective Bureau at (714) 229-6631.
