Orange County has a new Assemblyman tonight and its Chris Norby.
Norby. a Republican, easily beat two other rivals in Tuesday's runoff, taking 62 percent of the vote. Democrat John MacMurray was second with 32 percent, followed by Green Party candidate Jane Rands with 6 percent.
Norby will replace former Assemblyman Mike Duvall who made national and international headlines last Fall for his "open microphone" dirty talk of sexual conquests with a female lobbyist during a Assembly hearing last year.
The runoff was scheduled after no candidate cleared 50 percent of the vote needed to win outright in a November special election. The district includes the cities of Fullerton, Anaheim, Placentia, Orange, Brea, Yorba Linda and La Habra. Republicans hold a 10 point registration advantage here, so his victory by more than 2 to 1 surprised many hopefull Dem Party leaders
Duvall, who championed family values in the Legislature, stepped down in September after the now infamous videotape was leaked to the media that described in great details about his kinky liaisons. The married father of two said later that his only offense was "inappropriate storytelling."
Regardless, the Democratic Party tried to capitalize on Duvall's misque and tonight the voters in the upscale OC district voted for Norby by more than 2 to 1.
CHRIS NORBY (REP) 20,292 62.9%
JOHN MACMURRAY (DEM) 10,018 31.0%
JANE RANDS (GRN) 1,963 6.1%

Randy, why does the Democratic Party in Orange County run nuts like this Mac Murray. What an embarrassment. Who ever is in charge in the OC for the Dems need to be fired.
