(CERRITOS, CA) The Los Coyotes Channel here on the Los Angeles and Orange County boarder today crested to its highest level in a generation. This location is the over pass located where Marquardt Avenue in Cerritos (the LA County side) turns into Walker Street in La Palma (the OC).
Today, at 5 p.m., the concrete river banks that located here were roaring with high waves slamming into freeway overpasses. The Los Coyotes Creek winds down to the Pacific Ocean into Long Beach. I have seen this creek during rain storms for more than 40 years, and today, I have never seen its level rise so high in such a short period of time. Warning, tomorrow is going to be worse than today.
So, beware of the creeks, and rivers, and stay inside if possible.
