Tonight: Shooting on Maidstone Avenue in Norwalk leaves man in "serious condition."


NORWALK -- A man was shot and wounded in a residential neighborhood over on Maidstone Avenue late this afternoon (Thursday, December 3rd) according to Norwalk Sheriff officials.


The attack was reported just after 5 p.m. in the 15300 block of Maidstone Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Mark Wilkins said in published news reports tonight in the Whittier Daily News and San Gabriel Valley Tribune..

Few details were initially available regarding the shooting.

The victim, a man estimated to be in his 40s, was walking in the area when he was shot at least once in the abdomen. His was hospitalized with serious injuries, however his exact condition was unknown.

The shooter was described as a Latino man in his late teens or early 20's and no motive for the incident was  immediately known. Law enforcement officials said it did not appear to be gang-related.
