5 Votes: Bell Gardens City Council Election Results heads to Recount

BELL GARDENS ELECTION MADNESS CONTINUES!
The recently held November 3rd Bell Gardens City Council campaign is heading to an official "recount" next Monday, December 7th.

The recount will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters Office in Norwalk.

The request for the formal hand recount was submitted by candidate Luis Arias who lost the election to incumbent Councilman Daniel Crespo by 5 votes.  Arias must present a cashiers check to the County of Los Angeles by this Friday for the estimated cost of $4,300.   According to election law Arias will be responsible for the entire amount associated with the recount process which could total as much as $7,000 if it lasts more than one day.

I will be attending this recount, and will keep you posted on the outcome.

If your interested in attending, and to witness "Democracy In Action" the Registrar of Voters is located at 12400 Imperial Highway in Norwalk and will occur in Room 3001.
