BREAKING NEWS:

Gardena City Councilman Steve Bradford has been elected to the California State Assembly in a Special Election in the 51st District on Tuesday.

Since he recieved more than 50% of the vote, there will not be a run off. Bradford celebrated his election win at the Paradise Restuarant in Gardena flanked by supporters, family members and friends.
Polls were left open till 10 p.m. due to the wild fires that are occurring all over Los Angeles County.
Bradford takes over the Assembly seat previously held by recently elected State Senator Curran Price. Price endorsed him in this campaign. West Basin Water Board Member Gloria D. Gray placed a distant second place.
Price was elected to the State Senate in May 2009 to represent the 26th District in a Special Election. The 26th Sentate District was declared "vacant" after former State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas was elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisiors in last November's General Election.
The new Assemblyman thanked his many supporters for his landslide victory.
“I am proud of our campaign. I want to thank my major endorsers – Senator Curren Price, L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, and Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, the elected leadership of the Cities of Inglewood, Lawndale and Hawthorne, and a host of community and civic leaders from throughout the 51st Assembly District – for their strong support.”

He will be sworn into office as soon as the Vote is certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorders Office.
