KUDOS IN

THE GARDENS!
Tonight I watched the Hawaiian Gardens City Council Meeting and wanted to congratulate three outstanding community leaders for formally beginning an OPEN and HONEST conversation between the the residents, city council members, and the Sheriff of Los Angeles County.

Kudos to Hawaiian Gardens community leader Pastor Barry Bruce for his passionate honesty tonight, and to Mayor Mike Gomez for his diplomacy, and to Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca for "listening" and "learning" and "reaching out" to everyone, and to the hundreds of concern residents who are still in search of answers.

In order to begin a "conversation" between interested parties, you need to develop a plan and rules and everyone needs to respect one and other. Tonight Hawaiian Gardens became the "example" on how a community needs to deal with a crisis. Every City Council Member and City Manager, and Law Enforcement officials in California should watch this meeting tonight and learn from this amazing community..

I will be talking more about this in my column this weekend with the Los Cerritos Community News.

Until then, my hat is off to everyone in Hawaiian Gardens tonight! Job well done. Congratulations!
