CERRITOS - Authorities on Monday released few details on the suspicious death of a Cerritos man found in his home last week.

Joseph Paul Glebovich, 64, was discovered dead in his home on the 12900 block of Droxford Street at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities have not released the cause of death.

Los Angeles County Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said detectives have requested a security hold on all public information pending further investigation. Security holds can typically last from 60 to 90 days, Winter added.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. David Infante said homicide detectives are investigating the incident but have not officially ruled it a homicide. Infante would only say that the investigation is ongoing and authorities do not believe the incident is related to a string of home-invasion robberies in the area.

Several news outlets had initially reported that Glebovich's daughter said he was murdered in a home-invasion robbery, but authorities have said they do not believe the incident involved a robbery.
The recent home-invasion robberies, which involved four homes in Bellflower and one in Cerritos, took place between Jan. 30 and April 21. No one was injured in those incidents.

News of the death has left residents unsettled in the normally quiet community.

Randy Economy, who runs a local blog on city issues, said Glebovich was a Cerritos resident for 39 years and was well-known in the community. "The whole story has got this entire city on edge," Economy said. "We're very concerned want to know what happened."
