Cerritos "Iconic" Million Dollar Dome Rises Today

"Iconic" Cerritos Dome hoisted into place...

Today, members of Ironworkers Union #433 placed the giant "art deco" dome high atop a new building that is being constructed at the Cerritos Towne Center.

The Dome is part of the Cerritos Public Arts Program, and when completed, this building will become a "landmark" for literally millions of people who commute on the nearby 91 Freeway.
It was interesting to watch those dedicated Men and Women of Ironworkers Union #433 complete the construction of the Dome today.

It takes a lot of courage to do what they do, and my "hard hat" is off to anyone who can be that high off the groud and who is so focused on the task in front of them.

Get over to the Towne Center in Cerritos and check out this Million Dollar Dome.
Some may question the "value" of the Dome in these hard economic times.
I don't know how much is "too" much for "public art" these days, but it is impressive to watch how this building is being pieced together.
