DIRECTOR TONY SCOTT LEAPS TO HIS DEATH OFF THE VINCENT THOMAS BRIDGE

Here is a preview of Ridley and Tony Scott's upcoming A & E classic Suspense-Thriller, 'Coma.' The two-night special event begins on Monday, September 3rd, 2012 (Labor Day).

Film Director Tony Scott jumped to his death on Sunday afternoon off of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Long Beach/San Pedro. The British film director was known for such Hollywood blockbusters as "Top Gun," "Days of Thunder," "Beverly Hills Cop II" and "The Taking of Pelham 123."

He apparently jumped to his death at around 12:30 p.m. He climbed a fence on the south side of the bridge and according to reports leapt off "without hesitation. A suicide note was found inside Scott's black Toyota Prius, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes of the bridge, said U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Jennifer Osburn.

I, like millions of other people here in Southern California, have been on this bridge THOUSANDS of TIMES. My thoughts:

The fence is REALLY high with small links. It is very hard to climb over. I wonder if ANYONE actually tried to get out of their car and actually attempt to stop Tony from leaping? The traffic is ALWAYS jammed on this bridge, especially on the weekends. Makes me wonder. This death appears to be like something out of a bizarre Hollywood movie script.
