LOS ANGELES -- A 52-year-old
Los Angeles city fire captain
is scheduled to be
arraigned Friday on one count of trying to
purchase
heroin, the
District Attorney’s office said today. Matthew Dane Phillipsen, (dob 4-18-59), was arrested Wednesday
allegedly trying to purchase seven balloons of simulated heroin from
undercover
LAPD officers during a
sting operation being conducted
near Avenue 61 and
Figueroa Street, authorities said.Phillipsen was charged late Monday in case BA390793 with one
count of attempted
possession of a controlled substance, heroin, a
felony. He was released on $10,000 bail.
Phillipsen is scheduled to be arraigned at the Foltz Criminal
Justice Center, Department 30, sometime after 8:30 a.m. on Friday,
Nov. 18. If convicted, he faces up to three years in
county jail.
