A strong 5.3 earthquake hit the Fox Island area of ALEUTIAN ISLANDS in ALASKA at around 10:39 a.m. local time here in Los Angeles. There are no reports of damage at this time. This area of Alaska has been hit with as many as 20 different earthquakes of greater than a 3.0 within the past week.
