BREAKING NEWS:
California State Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee has defeated former Assemblyman John Laird to capture the 15th State Senate District in a nasty, hard fought and very expensive special election on Tuesday.
Blakeslee will replace former State Senator Abel Maldonado who was appointed California Lt. Guv earlier this year.
The election was seen as critical for Republicans. Blakeslee will probably become the last vote needed to pass a California budget. But, nothing is never a sure deal in Sacramento these days.
