Sacramento:

Conservative California Republican State Senator Roy Ashburn from Bakersfield, has been arrested on DUI charges in Sacramento after a night of partying.

The California Highway Patrol picked up Ashburn at 2:00 am morning after an officer noticed a black Chevy Tahoe swerving at 13th and L Streets near the State Capitol.

When the officer stopped the Tahoe, the driver identified himself as Senator Ashburn.

He has been charged with two misdemeanors; driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level higher than .08% or higher.

Ashburn was booked into the Sacramento County Jail and released.

I wonder if he was driving a taxpayer owned vehicle? No word if he is heading to rehab. I can ONLY imagine the hang over he must have today? These politicians in Sacramento are out of control.

Ashburn is a Republican Senator representing parts of Kern, Tulare and San Bernardino Counties.
