Letter Bag: Progress should not be sown in the field of corruption and greed in Pico Rivera

Dear Randy:

Interesting how two assistant city managers can continue the day to day business of the city. Obviously shows that the assistants were doing the work anyway and Fuentes was just a blowhard, do nothing, uneducated and unqualified financial drain on the city.

I certainly hope that the council opts for an open process and returns the qualification of “minimum Bachelors Degree” to the qualifications. As you may remember, it was Beilke and company that had that required qualification removed from the position to accommodate Fuentes’ high school diploma.

We will certainly keep a watchful eye on the process as we have seen how political corruption reigns when the city manager is political and caters to the majority instead of the entire council and residents at large. Progress should not be sown in the field of corruption and greed.
