From My Good News File:
(Los Angeles, CA) Two Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies are being called "heroes" today for helping save the life of an ailing attorney on Thursday.
Attorney Michael Dib was in the process of examining a witness in Department 67 of the Superior Court when he suffered cardiac arrest.
Deputies Noel Furniss and Juan Rivera, seeing the dire situation sprung into action and successfully administered CPR to Mr. Dib for several minutes until the arrival of LAFD paramedics. The paramedics noted that Mr. Dib would have certainly expired prior to their arrival without the swift and professional actions of Deputies Furniss and Rivera.
Deputy Furniss, who was aware of Mr. Dib’s pre-existing heart condition, took the unusual step of equipping his desk inside the Court room he supervises, with a breathing mask prior to Mr. Dib’s scheduled court appearance.
His pre-planning certainly helped to sustain Mr. Dib until more extensive medical attention could be provided.
Mr. Dib was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he underwent surgery.
So, these two Sheriff's get my "Thataboy Award" for the DAY! Great job!
