Yes Virginia! Kidnapped Rudolph The Reindeer Recovered from a Gardena Trailer Park

The stolen Rudolph The Reindeer of Rolling Hills Estates has been found in a trailer park in nearby Gardena.  Are you kidding me?  Yes, Virginia, the kidnapped leader of Santa's Sleigh is safe and sound.

Here are all the details from Santa's helpers over at KTLA this morning:

"An iconic statue of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was found Monday, more than a week after it was stolen from Rolling Hills Estates neighborhood where the hand-crafted reindeer had been a holiday fixture for decades.
The 200-pound statue disappeared from atop a city sign in the Ranchview neighborhood on Dec. 12.
On Monday, sheriff’s deputies following up on a tip from a KTLA viewer located the wooden statue on the roof of a mobile home in Gardena.
A man at the home was arrested for possession of stolen property, according to Sgt. Mark Moffett with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. Moffett said the man was a gardener who worked in the area where the statute disappeared. “He claimed to have found it … and confirmed that it came from that area,” Moffett said."

St. James Catholic Church: Sending Loving Prayers After a Tragic Night

I wanted to send out lots of love and Prayers to those who were involved in the tragic car accident at St. James Catholic Church on Wednesday night in the South Bay.

As many as 12 people were seriously injured and one person has died after an apparent drunk driver hit a crowd of people who just left St. James Church after celebrating a Christmas pageant.

A youngster has died, and several others are in very critical condition.

Controversial Comments Regarding Cuban-Americans by State Senator Tony Mendoza Irks Local Community Leaders

Did you see what new California State Senator Tony Mendoza said about Cuban-Americans this past week in his FIRST televised interview in Sacramento. Yep. Tony is going to be a walking sound bite for us in the media during the next four years. He is off to a great start with his "foot in mouth" problem that has plagued him in the past. Here is a press statement I received today. Not going to edit the release. You can make your own decision.

TONY MENDOZA RANTS ABOUT GANG PHOTO
AND MAKES RACIAL REMARKS DURING INTERVIEW

A Recent Interview On a Syndicated Cable News Program
Shows the New Senator’s Negative Side

DOWNEY, California - (December 15, 2014) – Recently elected State Senator Tony Mendoza began his term by providing an all too familiar self-deflecting rant of blame shifting and distortion of facts related to his campaign for the 32nd State Senate seat. In a recent interview on Charter Cable’s California Edition, Mendoza tries to make claim an image he had taken of himself, while he was in the Assembly, dressed in gang attire, was somehow racist and used against him falsely and continues with a baseless claim that his opponent, of Cuban decent, doesn’t consider himself Latino. Richard Garcia, Mendoza’s former communications director, said in a statement, “Mendoza had an opportunity to take the high road by giving details on his plans to improve the 32nd Senatorial district at the outset of the interview, but instead low browed the chance by offering ridiculous claims about a photo he personally authorized to be taken while in the State Assembly. He further offended Cuban-Americans with a racially charged comment on their self-identity and exclusion as Latinos.” Area Cuban groups within the 32nd State Senate district took offense at the Cuban remarks made by Senator Mendoza and are asking for a public apology. “In the heat of campaigns opponents often lash out at each other, but it is senseless and insensitive to make derogatory remarks about a community of Latinos, in this case Cuban-Americans, when you are expected to serve them as constituents,” said Fernando Marquet, Cuban-American community leader, Cuban refugee and survivor of the Bay of Pigs. “It is just as reckless to claim that a proud Latino and community leader such as Mario A. Guerra, who was born in Cuba and immigrated to the U.S. doesn’t view himself as Latino. The Senator clearly does not know Mayor Guerra or the Cuban community. He should apologize for his remarks immediately.” Alberto Del Calvo, vice president of the Cuban American Teacher’s Association, said, “I don’t know what would make Mr. Mendoza say such a thing. It seems to me to be pure ignorance on his part.” Mendoza, who previously served in the State’s Assembly, and was ousted from his position as Chair of the Latino Legislative Caucus due to allegations of money laundering, was also connected to a website during the Senate race that used a doctored image of his opponent’s son insinuating illegal and immoral acts. Mendoza never publicly denounced the site, or its content, but did urge his supporters to log on and see it for themselves.

I will provide Team Mendoza and State Senate Leader Kevin Deleon free ink on my blog here to respond.  So, what do you think?  Is this typical Tony Mendoza or is this just plain WRONG?

2015 La Mirada City Council Campaign Turned Totally Sideways.

Tony Aiello.Councilman in the Making!

The March 2015 La Mirada City Council has been totally turned upside down.

Yep, politically boring La Mirada has joined the rest of rowdy Southeast Los Angeles County. About time.

Seven candidates, including the lightning rod father of Councilman Andrew Sarega, will seek three seats on the City Council.

Also in the race is Tony Aiello,  a life long resident who is literally one of the best know residents in La Mirada.

Game on.

So will voters elect two Sarega's to the La Mirada City Council.  If so, I want the rights to the cable television reality show if it happens.

The Sarega Show could rival the Real Housewives of Orange County or Beverly Hills for that matter.

The Sarega's are changing the rules of the political around here.

Dad John is outspoken. Brash. Some say hot headed.  Opinionated. Passionate.

Son Andrew Sarega lives under the same roof with Dad.  That is where the Reality Show begins if both are elected.

Councilman Steve Jones will be out of office and has not decided to seek a fifth four-year term.  (La Mirada needs term limits for city council members, needless to say).

Councilmen Steve De Ruse and Larry Mowles are seeking their second terms and well, then are in danger of going down in flames in this campaign.  They are outraged about the possibility of having two Sarega's on the same city council.  Great article in the Whittier Daily News by Reporter Mike Sprague on the early campaign this weekend.

In addition to Senior Sarega, another challenger, Tony Aiello is in this campaign.

I like Tony.

Tony Aiello is probably one of the best known residents of La Mirada. His campaign has already attracted great "buzz" and "chatter" inside the corridors in and around La Mirada Boulevard.  Tony get's things done around La Mirada and I totally support his campaign 100 PERCENT.  Aiello has amazing knowledge of the community and would bring a new edgy attitude to the city council.  I like edgy.

Also running is Edward Eng, executive director of the Los Angeles County Economy and Efficiencies Commission; Dale Nowicki, an attorney; Michael Saenz, a business consultant; and Sarega’s father, John, who is a commercial property owner.  Saenz has the backing of the longtime political machine.  Eng would be the first Asian American ever elected to an office in La Mirada (long over due) and Nowicki is also well known in key circles.

So, welcome to Democracy 2015 to the Voters of La Mirada.

This is going to be a wild campaign.

Convicted Politician Richard Alarcon Skates Out of Jail and Into 'House Arrest.' This isn't JUSTICE, this is a Circus!

Seal of Los Angeles, California. On March 27, ...
Seal of Los Angeles, California.
Why in the world are we spending millions of tax dollars to prosecute politicians who get caught breaking the law?

Why are we holding high profile trials, with guilty jury convictions, and then have these political crooks end up doing their "hard time" in the comfort of their own home.

It happened again on Friday when convicted FELON/Ex-Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon was allowed to skip out of a 120-day jail sentence (Perjury and Voter Fraud) and into a custom fit ankle bracelet and into house arrest for the next 51 days.
Hard time my rear?

Shame on the legal system for allowing this to take place today.

I have reported on political corruption for years.

We have all learned firsthand about the seedy dark side of how our "public servants" break laws, how they stuff millions of dollars into their pockets and go on to live lavish lives...out of the glare.

Enough of the "slap on the wrist" mentality that is now the "new normal" after elected lawmakers are found guilty of felony crimes.

Come on Sheriff Jim McDonnell.

Show us what you are made of.  The people elected you to stop corrupt lawmakers from destroying the system.  Come of Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey.

Let's stop allowing convicted elected officials to sneak out of jail....without fanfare...and stop playing the "jail over crowding" card as your excuse.

We all need to be alarmed about with took place today with new Felon Richard Alarcon...each and everyone of us.

Don't be fooled people.  Hey, I wonder where Alarcon is going to be doing his "house arrest?"  The political circus is BACK in TOWN!
