Today was the annual Family Arts Festival here at the Cerritos Center for The Preforming Arts.
I love this event, and I look forward to it each and every year.
Highlights from the festivities were the Chinese Dragon, Kettledrums, Native American singers, an All-American Women's Blue Grass Band, balloons, art exhibits and tons of family fun for everyone.
Today I had fun talking to our Supervisor Don Knabe and his amazing wife Julie (seen here with me and my mom Rosemary), and talked some hometown politics with our Cerritos Councilman Joseph Cho (above). I also grabbed a tasty cheese burger and got caught up on things around town with my longtime family friends Bob and Linda Hernandez and their very very smart grand daughter.
The Friends Annual Family Arts Festival provides a wonderful opportunity for parents, teachers, and children to enjoy a day discovering the arts together.
Hands-on arts activities and free performances by student and professional artists on five different stages provided a delightful celebration of rich cultural traditions that thrive in our backyard.
Next year I will be preforming as a Fire Dancer and Baton Twirler.
