#VictoryParade Car Chase becomes "Instant Classic" here in LA LA LAnd

Talk about a bizarre slow-speed chase...this one on Friday night here in LA LA LAnd was one for the books....

This guy....driving in a convertible Ford Mustang was cruising Ventura Boulevard with a home made sign that read "Victory Parade."

He led police on pursuit at 10 mph with his hazard lights on in the western San Fernando Valley flashing the "V" for "VICTORY" sign all the way.

The cops couldn't stop this guy, but some other onlooker ended up pulling Victory Driver out of his car....right in front of stunned television on lookers....

Lots of social media chatter. #VictoryParade was a hot TRENDING topic on Twitter within minutes.

I love LA!

Alec Ouzounian, 40, of Rancho Santa Margarita, dies after another officer involved shooting

It seems like we are reporting that someone in Southern California has lost their life due to an officer involved shooting, and today in Orange County, it happened again.

Just a few minutes ago, the Orange County Sheriff's Department issued the below statement regarding the death of Alec Ouzounian, age 40, of Rancho Santa Margarita.

Now another "investigation" will get underway as different law enforcement agencies investigate one and other.

There HAS to be a better way to "investigate" these type of deaths.

Our system is broken.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. (May12, 2015) – On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, a deputy-involved shooting occurred in the residence located at 28 Paseo Viento.  The victim of the shooting, Alec Ouzounian, 40, Rancho Santa Margarita, was transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

At approximately 2:10 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 28 Paseo Viento regarding a subject attempting suicide.  Deputies arrived and entered the residence where they confronted Ouzounian, suffering from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds.  During the confrontation with Ouzounian, the deputy-involved shooting occurred.  No deputies were injured during the incident.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations is conducting the shooting investigation as is protocol for all Orange County Sheriff’s deputy-involved shootings.

BREAKING: Sherrif's Involved in Deadly Suspect Shooting on Pires Avenue here in Cerritos

Location of the deadly shooting in Cerritos on Pires Avenue.
EXCLUSIVE Photo provided to Randy Economy Blog

What an awful afternoon here in a normally quiet neighborhood on the Eastside of Cerritos.

A suspect was fatally shot by sheriff's deputies near Artesia Boulevard and Carmenita Road over on Pires Avenue last this afternoon.

According to ABC 7, the suspect led Lakewood sheriff's deputies on a short chase before crashing into a fire hydrant, sending a geyser into the air and water gushing onto the streets. Deputies opened fire as the situation escalated.

One suspect died at the scene.  Details are still be sorted out at the scene.

Streets are totally blocked off in and around Artesia and Carmenita.  The place is swarming with law enforcement officials and television news crews have arrived at the scene.

One of my interns with my radio talk show actually lives just feet away from where the shooting took place.  Needless to say his family is shaken up, as is the rest of us who love Cerritos...and who proudly call the "Tony Eastside" our home.

Neighbors are shocked over this situation.

These type of things just doesn't happen here.  Pires Avenue has the most spectacular trees dotting their street in a city that is "Tree City USA!"  The homes on this street are valued at $900,000 and over $1 million.

But, these are scary times we live in and no neighborhood is immune to violence.
