Mauricio Arroyo is campaigning hard for a seat on the Hawaiian Gardens City Council, yet official voting records indicate he has never voted in a past Hawaiian Gardens city council election, Los Cerritos Community News has learned.

This map shows the incorporated areas in Los A...Image via WikipediaAccording to documents obtained from Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters Office, Los Cerritos Community News has confirmed that the 46-year-old Arroyo changed his voter registered status on July 8, 2011 and indicated a “change of address” to a residence located at the 21000 block of Claretta Avenue.
Additional certified records obtained by Los Cerritos Community News from County Registrar Dean Logan also confirms that Arroyo has only voted in one recent previous election, that being the November 8, 2008 Presidential election.
In an interview with LCCN Publisher Brian Hews, Editor Jerry Bernstein and Reporter Randy Economy on Monday, Arroyo said he has lived in Hawaiian Gardens for the past “five and a half months,” but that he had registered to vote in the one square mile city two years earlier, and that he recently moved “from one part of Hawaiian Gardens into another part” of the city.
Arroyo is the second candidate to have their residency called into question within the past two weeks.  Previously it was discovered by LCCN that council hopeful Kathy Trimble moved into the one square mile community and registered to vote on June 1st of this year from a location in Long Beach.
Registrar Logan also confirmed that Trimble has participated in past elections as a voter during 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2008 and in the 2010 General Election.  Her voting record does not show her taking part in a Hawaiian Gardens City Council election during the past 12 years.
Trimble has refused comment over the situation, and repeated calls to her by Los Cerritos Community News have gone unreturned.
Arroyo at this weeks Hawaiian Gardens City Council Meeting
Arroyo said he is running because of a “puppet regime” that has existed at city hall for the past number of years. “You should go into the Latino community, which is a vast majority, and just ask them about my character and ask them about (my) person, and they will let you know,” but he  said “if you ask city officials, I don’t know if you will get the same response.”
He also said that his residency in Hawaiian Gardens should not be a detractor in his current campaign effort.  Arroyo also said he wants to “bring down” the walls of communications between city council members and administrators.”
According to filings with the California Secretary of State’s office, Arroyo and his campaign treasurer Cecy Groom, a former member of the ABC Unified School District Board of Education, were issued an official campaign committee identification number that lists a location on the same 21900 block of Claretta Avenue as the primary location of the campaign committee called “Arroyo for City Council 2011. Vote to Clean Up City Hall.”

I was at The Lucky Dog Cafe around a half hour ago, when I watched sports history as it happened. Evan Longoria is America's Newest Idol tonight after his off the hook amazing home run that will be remembered for eons. Longoria blasted a solo shot in the 12th inning, to lift he underdog Tampa Bay Devil Rays to an 8-7 win against the heavily favored New York Yankees. The blast came literally three minutes after the Boston Red Sox blew their game against the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3. This is the stuff movies are made from. I am glad I got a chance to see this LIVE as it took place here in my "hood!"  Call this Evan "ALL" MIGHTY!

LOS ANGELES – A former Los Angeles police detective charged in connection with a workers’ compensation fraud investigation today pleaded no contest and resigned from the police department.
Deputy District Attorney Mario Coto-Lopez said John Xavier Vach Jr., 38, pleaded to two misdemeanor counts of insurance fraud. Vach is due back for sentencing on Nov. 7.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit in cooperation with the District Attorney’s Healthcare Fraud Division.
Vach, a 15-year veteran of the LAPD, operated two private businesses while out on a disability claim for job-related stress. The defendant purportedly also sought a lifetime disability pension. The alleged offenses occurred between February and November 2008.
Under the terms of the negotiated settlement, the defendant was made to resign today from the police department. Additionally, Vach must pay $105,000 in restitution and will be placed on summary probation for three years.

Los Cerritos Community News EXCLUSIVE: Hawaiian Gardens Candidate Trimble Moves Back Into City After Ten Years

Kathy Trimble recently moved back into Hawaiian Gardens after 10 years

County records show failure to vote in last
several years.

By Randy Economy

www.LosCerritosNews.net

Official seal of City of Hawaiian GardensImage via WikipediaHawaiian Gardens City Council candidate Kathy Trimble moved into the city just weeks before filing her legal documents required to become an official candidate in the upcoming Nov. 8 election, the Los Cerritos Community News has learned.
LCCN has obtained certified documents and records from the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters whThis map shows the incorporated areas in Los A...Image via Wikipediaich reveals that Trimble registered to vote within the City of Hawaiian Gardens on June 1, 2011.
Further review of voting files indicates Trimble has not voted in any election during the past several years.
On the California Voter Registration Form for Los Angeles County, Trimble states-under penalty of perjury-that she changed her voter registration from an address located in Long Beach to a mobile home at 22221 Bloomfield Avenue in Hawaiian Gardens on June 1, 2011.
Trimble filed to become a candidate for Hawaiian Gardens City Council on July 18, 2011, according to records obtained at the Hawaiian Gardens City Clerk’s office. She is hoping to unseat either incumbent Mayor Mike Gomez or Councilman Victor Farfan.
Other documents obtained by the Los Cerritos Community News from the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorders show that Trimble had been previously registered at a residence located at 3600 Monaco in Long Beach.
On Sept. 20, LCCN learned that Trimble filed paperwork with the California Secretary of State’s Office to establish a campaign committee under the name of “Trimble for City Council 2011-Supporting Honesty in Government.” California election officials issued the campaign an official identification number this past week in order for the group to collect campaign donations and to pay for expenditures.
Misleading Candidate Statement
In her ballot statement, which will be mailed to all Hawaiian Gardens voters within the next few weeks in the official “Sample Ballot Guide,” Trimble contradicts her residency status stating: “As a longtime resident of Hawaiian Gardens; my family, husband and friends have always known me to be of service to our residents.”
She goes on to state “As a Head Start mother, a parent coordinator, a sports mom, an ABC school employee, a minister to residents in our city and the founder of a women’s ministry; (I) now respond to the calling to be your City Council Woman to support change in Hawaiian Gardens.”
When asked to comment about the Trimble residency situation, the Gomez-Farfan Campaign said that their campaign “welcomes further investigation into this matter and hopes she can adhere to her campaign slogan ‘Honesty in Government.’
Several telephone calls to Trimble by Los Cerritos Community News were not returned as of Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.
LCCN goes to press Thursday night.
On her campaign website, Hawaiian Gardens City Councilmen Rey Rodriguez and Barry Bruce praise her as a “woman of integrity” who “desires to bring transparency and fiscal responsibility to our community.”
“Rey and I look forward to have Kathy join us as the missing piece in our service to you,” Bruce writes in a post on the Trimble campaign site.
“What Rey and I could not accomplish, Kathy’s election will make possible.”
Repeated calls to Bruce to comment on this story at his church “The Way Out Ministries” were not returned to the Los Cerritos Community News.

A campaign office for President Obama's reelection campaign had its windows shot out by some type of gun shots on Thursday night.

No one is in custody, and the news media is just beginning to pounce on this story.

Inside the office location, via www.loop.net
The building location is at 6700 South Centinela Avenue in the West Los Angeles area.  The LAPD is now on this case.  No one was inside the campaign office, and unfortunately there is no video cameras in front of this particular campaign office.  (Bet they will get a camera installed asap).   Here are some photos of the office complex via loop.net.  It is located near the Culver City area, right near the 405 Freeway in an area known as "Mar Vista."

President Obama will be in this part of LA next week for some "mega fundraisers" up in WeHo (West Hollywood)  area....around 10 miles away.

What the hell is wrong with people?  We live in an open  "BIG D" OPEN Democracy.

Hope they catch the idiots  responsible ASAP.

Yepremyan Murder: Four Indicted in 2009 North Hollywood Murder

Location map of Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, USAImage via WikipediaVAN NUYS – Four Van Nuys residents were arraigned today on a superceding indictment charging them with conspiracy and murder in the 2009 shooting death of a 19-year-old Granada Hills man after he sent a text message, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Zareh Manjikian, 24, who surrendered to police in July following an international manhunt, and Vahagn Jurian, 24, pleaded not guilty to one count each of conspiracy to commit a crime and murder in the Nov. 18, 2009, fatal shooting of Gombert Yepremyan. The indictment also charges Hovik Dzhuryan, 19, and his sister, Khatun Vardanian, 22, with one count each of conspiracy. Dzhuryan and Vardanian each pleaded not guilty. Bail was set at $30,000 for Vardanian and $45,000 for Dzhuryan. All four were arraigned on a two-count Grand Jury indictment returned Thursday and unsealed today by Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg. Deputy District Attorney Ed Nison is prosecuting the case. The indictment alleges the four conspired to kill Yepremyan after he sent a text message to his girlfriend in which he insulted Vardanian. Vardanian allegedly saw the message, called her brother Dzhuryan and told him to beat up Yepremyan. The indictment alleges Yepremyan began receiving phone calls from Dzhuryan, Jurian and others who told him to meet them at a Sears parking lot in North Hollywood at Victory and Laurel Canyon boulevards. At the parking lot during a confrontation, the indictment alleges Jurian struck Yepremyan in the face with his fist and Manjikian shot him in the back of the head with a 9 mm handgun. Manjikian had been a fugitive until July when he turned himself in following his arrest then release in Puerto Rico. He remains in custody on $8 million bail. Jurian, who also had been a fugitive until his arrest earlier this year, remains in custody on $4 million bail. All four return to court Monday in Van Nuys, Department G, for pretrial. Prosecutors are expected to dismiss two separate cases filed earlier against the defendants.
