Like hundreds of millions of Americans, I have been glued to television this weekend watching our "leaders" send all of us into a financial abyss for the next decade. The political banter has been classic. Sad, but classic.
Tonight, Rep. Emanueal Cleaver, a Democratic Congressman from Missouri, and the Chairman of the House Black Caucus called the deal between President Obama and leaders of the House and Senate a "Satan Sandwich."

Are you kidding me?

Hang on. This "dept" deal is far from being settled. Thank you Congressman Cleaver and the Black Caucus for at least wanting to see the "nuts and bolts" before bankrupting America for the next 10 years. BTW. Congressman Cleaver comes from a historical perspective in America. He represents the same Congressional district that once head by Rep. Harry Truman.

Incredible.

The Flying Tomato is out of control.

He makes it look so flipping easy. Not sure how he pulls this off, year in and year out. Shaun White is one of the BEST TRAINED ATHLETES of HIS generation.

Leanne Suter: KABC-Eyewitness News Reporter fired upon in Inland Empire! Two arrested

Update at 10:12 p.m.:
The reporter from Eyewitness News who was fired upon tonight is Leanne Suter. She was struck in the hand, and the weapon used was apparently a "pellet gun." Two teenagers have been arrested.

A television news crew from KABC-TV Channel 7 here in Los Angeles has been fired at while apparently doing a "weather segment" on tonight's freaky rain storms out in the Inland Empie.
I just got off the phone with Eyewitness News and they sent me the following statement:

as they were doing a live report. We are grateful no one was 
seriously hurt and we are fully cooperating with police in their 
investigation. Our crews  and reporters are very conscious of good 
safety practices and take proper precautions when on assignment. 
They could not have anticipated that someone would decide to target them in this way.

Officer Daniel Ackerman: Death of Buena Park Police officer saddens local community

Sad news from my next door neighboring community of Buena Park this afternoon. Officer Daniel Ackerman, 31, a popular members of the Buena Park Police Department has away after participating in a training exercise on Friday. He died today at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, according to the Orange County Coroners Office.

Apparently Ackerman was taking part in a training exercise on Friday when he showed signs of being "over exerted." The Associated Press, Ackerman was a resident of Buena Park, and has been with the BPPD since 2005, but he was active in the departments highly respected explorer and reserve officer programs. The flags are being flown at half-staff in both La Palma and Buena Park this afternoon in honor of Officer Ackerman.

He becomes the fourth officer in the history of the Buena Park PD to die in the line of duty.

Other past fallen Buena Park Police officers include Shayne York, Darrell "Bud" Cate, and Tyler Pinchot.

Please keep EVERYONE at the Buena Park PD in your thoughts and Prayers today, and to Officer Ackerman's family, including a young daughter, and his sister and mother.

Clark Gable III is out of a Los Angeles jail after having posted a $250,000 bail after being popped for "allegedly" shining one of those "laser" pointers at an LAPD helicopter Thursday night while he was supposedly cruising in a car in Hollywood. According to booking records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Gable, 22 was released after posting a $250,000 bail on Friday night at around 6:12 p.m. He is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom on August 26, (Los Angeles Court, Division 30). Gable comes from "Hollywood Royalty." His grandfather was the biggest movie star in the history of film. I hope Clark #3 can become a positive force in Hollywood for his generation. No excuses. Please, Clark, this isn't your first trip through the "legal" rodeo, and you are just beginning your adult "life." Let's hope he doesn't become another "statistic"in the revolving cycle of madness.

Note to Mr. Gable: If you run across this post, I would love to do a "sit down" interview with you. I think you have an amazing story that needs to be told....

Carlos Arias Donis Convicted of Murder in Machete Attack. Victim was Fernando Garcia, 23

TORRANCE – A Lawndale man was convicted late today of murder, attempted murder and mayhem for a machete attack that left one of his roommates dead and another seriously injured.

Deputy District Attorney Donald Syn said the Torrance Superior Court jury deliberated four days before convicting Carlos Arias Donis, 26, of one count each of second-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated mayhem. Jurors found true allegations that Donis personally used a machete to commit the crimes and that he inflicted great bodily injury.

Superior Court Judge Mark Arnold, who presided over the trial, scheduled sentencing for Aug. 12. Donis faces a sentence of life in prison with the possibly of parole.

Donis attacked two of his roommates living in a home in the 15300 block of Larch Avenue on Aug. 25, 2010. Fernando Garcia, 23, died at the scene. The second victim, who was 22 at the time, received serious head injuries.

The defendant, who worked at a gardener, fled. He was arrested a short time later by Sheriff’s deputies and has remained in custody.

87 year old man from Monterey Park found guilty of killing wife who claimed she was "spending too much money." WTF?

LOS ANGELES – A jury today convicted an 87-year-old San Gabriel Valley man of the first-degree ax murder of his wife and the attempted murder of her son two years ago. The jury of six women and six men deliberated about a day and a half before finding James Che Ming Lu guilty of the July 26, 2009, murder of his 55-year-old wife, Michelle, and the attempted murder of her 32-year-old son, Ji Ma Zeng. The jury also found true the special allegations of personal use of a deadly weapon, an ax. Deputy District Attorney Amy Murphy, who prosecuted the case, said Lu repeatedly struck his wife of nine years in the head with an ax as she lay in bed in their San Gabriel Valley home on Rosemead Boulevard. Lu then walked down the hall and tried to use the ax on her son, but the younger man managed to fend off the attack. Murphy said Lu was angry because he believed he spent too much money on his wife and that she spent too much time away from home working. (are you serious? Spending too much money? WTF?) Lu faces up to life in prison when he returns to court Sept. 7 for sentencing by Judge Clifford Klein.

The riot in question started after a movie premiere of the Electric Daisy Concert Experience, a concert film featuring David Guetta, Deadmaus5 and Moby from director Kevin Kerslake, was cancelled. Hollywood has turned into a literal "riot" zone tonight thanks to a movie premiere and "impromptu" concert by well known DJ Kaskade promoted all day to his 91,000 Twitter followers.

DJ Kaskade called for a "block party" outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre via the iconic social network site at the same time the premiere of the "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" was to be taking place.

LAPD has sent hundreds of officers with riot gear into the streets of Hollywood. Several arrests have been made. At least one LAPD squad car was overturned a torched on Orange Avenue. This is how Kaskade was communication with his "peeps" throughout the day. He even said he wanted to "show the magic" of social networking for tonight's event.

What a mess. Up in the community of Littlerock (in the Antelope Valley section of Los Angeles, not in Arkansas) a freight train has derailed and officials are on the scene determining if any "dangerous" or "toxic materials" have been discharged.

According to media reports, half of the 62 cars overturned and of those 14 cars were carrying hazardous materials.

Word to the wise, get the hell out of that area.

A fire department helicopter spotted a possible chlorine leak, crews were advised not to enter the derailment area.

Two passengers were on the train, but there were no reports of injuries.
