Call this one very pricey "fender bender" between two jets in New York's famed JFK Airport last night.  The two jets involved were an Airbus A380 (Air France) and one of those fancy Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets.

Two amazing videos have emerge, one is the two planes knocking into each other, and the other is the audio from one of the pilots involved.

The two jets were towed away and are now being inspected to determine the extent of their damage. Air France reported that 485 passengers and 25 crew members were aboard the Paris-bound Flight 7 and the other jet was a Comair flight that had 62 passengers and four crew members. NO ONE WAS injured.  The two videos on this blog post show the planes colliding (above), and below, is the audio from the pilot involved and his reaction to the crash.

Gotta love You Tube

Below:

The Airbus A380 super jumbo jet clipped the tail of a Delta CRJ700 (Comair Flight 6293) while taxiing at JFK (New York) International Airport.  Go to :34 seconds into this clip, and this is where the pilot tells the Control tower:  "We just been hit."

Call it just another night in paradise on the famed Sunset Strip in party obsessed West Hollywood.

Last night outside the Whiskey A Go Go, an argument between club goers turned into a all out riot that has left two people in critical condition, two brothers under arrest,  several minor injuries, and a whole lot of broken bottles and glass that has taken hours to clean up.

I WANT to HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU WERE AT THE WHISKEY LAST NIGHT.  HIT MY COMMENT SECTION BELOW.

After a "disagreement" between a couple of males, it quickly  flared into an all out brawl, and several by standers quickly were forced into the melee.

The fight turned into arrests, at least one vehicle run over a couple of innocent onlookers, a gun shot was fired that is being called an "officer involved shooting," and by the time members of the West Hollywood Sheriff's Department arrived on the scene late last night, an all out riot was taking place on both side of the Whiskey.

Sheriff deputies quickly contained the area around the Whiskey A Go Go and the surrounding blocks in We Ho.

This past of Sunset was literally shut down for at least eight hours. It was an active "crime scene" till 8 a.m. this morning.

An investigation by law enforcement is still underway, and many more arrests could still be made.

Busted and hauled in the jail were Eduardo Gomez, age 20, and his 18-year-old passenger, Jesus Gomez, who is his younger brother. (see their booking photos in post above).

Two of the men beaten during the brawl were transported to a local hospital were they are listed in critical condition,.   Also, another pedestrians who was hit by a car was also taken away via ambulance and is also in critical condition.

My favorite quote from the melee: "The history of the Whisky, we don't have a lot of problems," said Manager Tisa Mylar.  Tisa, give me a break...

Leave your first hand account of the situation below in my comment section.  Do you feel safe at night when you go to West Hollywood "clubbing?"

SAN FRANCISCO --

It was one of those "moments" that you knew would probably NEVER happen in sports.

Tonight, both the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants came together "as one team" and "one voice" to speak out against violence and how fans can still be passionate without harming each other.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - APRIL 11: Jeremy Affeldt ...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
Giant Jeremy Affledt and Dodger Jeremy Carroll.
Call it a "summit meeting" between two of the most respected rivals in all of sports.  I wish I could have been in San Francisco to watch the pre-game salute to fire fighter Bryan Stow on Monday night.

Bryan is still fighting for his life in an LA hospital, after being attacked just a week ago at Dodger Stadium.

Giants left-hander Jeremy Affeldt spoke to the somber Giant crowd and choked back tears as he urged fans to display human kindness when then attend a major league baseball game.

Basic human compassion.  Affeldt represented the Giants during the  pregame ceremony that paid tribute to Stow and his family.

Then Dodger Jamey Carroll was given the mic.  He told fans "There's no room in the game for hatred and violence. This is America's national pastime and let's keep it that way."

Giant Jeremy Affeldt before the game, talks from the heart.
The two teams gathered around the pitchers mound as a photograph of Stow and his two children appeared on the scoreboard.

"We ask that you respect our rivalry and that you respect each other as fans," Affeldt said. "... When the last out is made, the rivalry ends on the field."

I have to tell you, everyone was touched, and I think everyone "got the message."

Jeremy Affeldt and Jeremy Carroll are two of my new heroes in baseball.  They spoke from the heart on behalf of everyone who loves our nations pastime.  The Dodgers won.  Who cares.

Its only a game.  Life is bigger than baseball.

The vote to make Ali Saleh the new Mayor of Bell, and Danny Harber the new Vice Mayor was on a split 3-2 vote.  City Council Members Nestor Valencia and Anna Maria Quintana voted "No."  This is actually amazing.  Why?  Because, Democracy is now the "rule" in Bell instead of a Rizzo Dictatorship.  Good Job....

Bell, Ca

Finally, the people of Bell have a new Mayor and Vice Mayor.  Recently sworn in councilman Ali Saleh was selected to serve as the new Mayor of Bell, and Danny Harber has been tabbed as the new Vice Mayor of Bell.

The new Mayor and Vice Mayor were selected a couple of hours ago at a packed Bell City Council Meeting.  The "reorganization" was the only two items on the City Council agenda.  Now the real work begins in trying to figure out how to keep Bell in business as a real "city."

I don't envy what lies ahead for this new city council.  Will the Bell Police Department be replaced by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department?  How much is Bell really in debt?  Will the new city council place policy before "political pressure?"
New Bell Vice Mayor Danny Haber

This is going to be fun to watch, and I will be peeking in with my "one eye."

ADVICE TO ALI and DANNY and NESTOR, VIOLETA, and ANNA MARIA:

Good Luck, Mayor Ali and Vice Mayor Danny and the rest of the NEW Bell City Council.

Remember one thing.

You are now in CHARGE of BELL.

The City Manager and City Attorney and the Chief of Police are YOUR EMPLOYEES.   They are NOT in CHARGE of BELL, you FIVE are NOW RESPONSIBLE and YOU WORK for the PEOPLE.

Don't be the "tail" be the "dog."

I do NOT envy all of the hard, real decisions that you will have to make during the next several weeks and months.

No more politics in Bell.  Time to get to work.

Japan

How much worse will it get?

Today it was revealed that the Great 9.1 Japan Earthquake from one month ago, actually has caused the world's worst nuclear leak ever recorded.

On a scale of 1 to 7, (1 is classified as an "Anomaly", and 7 is considered a "Major Accident.") this accident  is now at the top of the chart...a "7."

In comparison, Chernobyl was a level 7 accident, the highest level, denoting a "major accident," and "Three Mile Island" was classified a category 5, which is an "accident with wider consequences."

Here is the controversy going on in Japan today (Tuesday).  The Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency rated the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant a 5 -- putting it on par with the 1979 incident at Pennsylvania's Three Mile Island.   Three Mile Island was "kids stuff" compared to this disaster in Japan.

The "chart" no one wants to rank a "7"

This new ruling by the International Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency has sent a new "shock wave" around the world.

If you remember, and I certainly do, the Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear accident that occurred on April 26, 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant literally turned parts of Western Russia and Europe into literal "ghost towns."  It was considered the worst nuclear power plant accident in history, until today.

I am literally in a state of shock this afternoon.  I just heard about the passing Kam Kuwata, who was one of the very very best political "minds" in California, and someone I admired for decades.

Kam was found dead in his Venice condominium, officials said Monday, and autopsy is currently underway.

Kam was a genius, and was only 57.

He had been involved in politics for all of his adult life, just like me, mostly working for Democrats (I actually can't recall if he ever worked for a Republican...?) and many others who truly admired his work, passion for good government, clean candidates, and always being able to stay "above the fray."  He loved being in the "background" but you ALWAYS knew when Kam was involved with a cause or a candidate.

Police found his body in his home-office after friends and family grew concerned by their inability to get in touch with him.

So so sad.  Please, share your thoughts about Kam and his passing if you would like.

The FBI here in Los Angeles has just sent of the following notice regarding the suspect in that bomb explosion last week that targeted a synagogue. It now appears that Hirsch may have used a Greyhound Bus going from Los Angeles to New York City as his possible "get away" car.
WTH?

Greyhound Lines Bus # 6080 MCI DL3 photo by Ro...Image via WikipediaYep. Ron Hirsh, the  man wanted for questioning in connection with an investigation into last week’s explosion outside the Chabad House synagogue, in Santa Monica, California, is believed to have boarded a Greyhound bus on the day of the incident, Thursday, April 7, 2011.

The old "use the Grayhound Bus as a Get Away Trick."  Classic, ain't it.

Investigators confirmed that a man known as J. Fisher, a known alias used by suspect, Ron Hirsch, purchased a Greyhound bus ticket to New York that was originally scheduled to arrive Sunday, April 10. There are at least 10 destinations in between Los Angeles and New York. Additional investigation and video surveillance indicates that Hirsch disembarked the bus in Denver and may have further deviated from his original route. Hirsch is believed to have family in New York.
Ron Hirsch
Suspect Hirsh. He probably has shaved.... or not.

An investigation has been underway since the initial report of an explosion was received by the Santa Monica Police Department.

A lengthy forensic post-blast investigation of the incident site was conducted following the initial field assessment and resulted in evidence indicating that the device appeared to have been deliberately constructed. Investigation determined that Items found in and around the crime scene are linked to Ron Hirsch, identified as a transient.
Ron Hirsch

AKA: Israel Fisher, J. Fisher
Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian
Brown hair, green eyes 5’07”, 207 lbs.
Date of Birth: December 9, 1950

Hirsch is known to frequent synagogues and Jewish community centers seeking charity from patrons. Hirsch is currently being sought on state charges of possession of a destructive device and unrelated local charges. His photograph is being released publicly and to law enforcement. Federal investigators are also interested in questioning Hirsch.

The FBI can be reached 24 hours a day in Los Angeles at 888 CANT HIDE. Alternatively, anyone with information can dial 911.
No known motive for a deliberate attack is known at this time. A joint investigation by the Santa Monica Police Department, the FBI, the ATF, the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the Santa Monica Fire Department is ongoing.

Reward money is available in exchange for information leading to a conviction in connection with this alleged crime.

Randy,

I’m sorry for the late reply, but I was at our fundraiser here in Pacific Grove all day and just now sat down to continue the electronic portion.

Thank you so much for trying to bring awareness to Bryan’s situation. We truly appreciate the time and effort you’ve put in and helping us get more people involved.

The website just posted this in regards to Bryan’s Condition:

His doctor said he's still under heavy sedation but his seizures have somewhat subsided. In a few days they want to slowly take him off sedation. He will remain on high doses of seizure meds until there are no more seizures. ~Bonnie Bryan's sister
That’s the latest.
Thanks again for helping us out and I hope all of our support gets Bryan on the path to recovery.
Eric

Thanks Eric for the note.  Please keep Bryan in your Prayers this Sunday when you attend the church of your choosing.

I will post more later.
Hang in there Bryan!
