Lonnie David Franklin: Six more victims ided?
Los Angeles This afternoon at a news conference, Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery- Homicide detectives provided some new information regarding the ongoing investigation of the well-known “Grim Sleeper” murder case.

Investigators are now focused on eight females of which six are reported as missing persons.  The seventh female is an unsolved murder victim and the eighth is still unidentified.  Of the six missing females, four of them weren’t previously connected to the investigation until they were reported to 800 Task Force detective’s after suspect Franklin’s arrest.

Detectives displayed photographs of the six missing women identified by name and last known location. Three of them were connected to the case by evidence recovered at Franklin’s residence. Information uncovered related to the four other missing women indicated they had similar lifestyles as the confirmed victims and each of them had frequented Franklin’s neighborhood prior to their disappearance. The women were reported missing as far back as 1982, with the most recent in 2005. The six missing women whose photos were displayed have been identified as follows:

- 18-year-old Ayellah Marshall, missing since February 2005
- 29-year-old Rolenia Morris, missing since September 2005
- 33-year-old Cathern or Catherine Davis, missing since June 1982
- 27-year-old Rosalind Giles, missing since January 1991
- 29-year-old Lisa Knox, missing since August 1993
- 37-year-old Anita Parker, missing since November 1988

The seventh woman detectives think may be connected to the case is Inez Warren, the victim of an unsolved murder committed in 1988. Warren’s murder is marked by similarities to the others that Franklin is charged with, but detectives need additional information before they can confirm a connection to him.

The eighth individual is an unidentified person, previously listed as #117.  She too was found to have a direct connection to evidence recovered at Franklin’s residence.  This person’s identity remains unknown and detectives have made a plea for anyone who recognizes her to contact them.

Fifty-five unidentified photographs taken from Franklin’s residence in July 2010 were displayed.  Detectives still need the public’s help to determine who and where they are so they can either be eliminated or added as aArrest Of Grim Sleeper 1Image by Antonio Villaraigosa via Flickr victim.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Department’s robbery homicide detectives on a toll- free hotline, 1-877-LAPD-24-7.   Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.

I wanted to thank the family of Berna Martinez for sending me an appeal tonight to help find the person responsible in the horrific "dragging" death that claimed the life of their love one just a couple of weeks ago.

If you recall this is what took place.  This was on just about every news outlet in Southern California and it also appeared here on my blog.

"On the morning of Monday, March 21, 2011 at around 11:45 a.m. on a rain soaked street, Berna Martinez, age 74 was hit by a vehicle who was exiting the northbound 5 Freeway at Red Hill Avenue.  Her body was dragged more than 1 mile away at Newport and Walnut avenues."

Tonight, I received a heart felt note from Gabriel Martinez, the 14 year old grandson of Berna asking me to place some additional information on my blog about this unsolved case.

"Randy, we need witnesses in the fatal traffic accident of our beloved Berna Aragon Martinez who was struck and killed on March 21, 2011 in the area of Redhill and El Camino Real at the 5 Freeway off ramp crosswalk at around 11:30 to 11:45 p.m..   If you have ANY INFORMATION  or if your KNOW anyone who may have witnessed this terrible accident, please contact Officer Houle with the Tustin Police Department at (714) 573-3220.

The family is also planning a Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale this Saturday, April 9th from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tustin Family and Youth Center at 14722 Newport Avenue in Tustin.   The pancake breakfast will cost $3 per person, and ANY donation is requested to help this wonderful family in this sad time in their lives. For more information, please call (714) 573-3370, and ask for Barbara, Lucia, Keesha or Nang.

The new look Democratic Party. Deb Wasserman Schultz in charge!

Washington, DC:

I just got a note from one of my pals who serves as a member of the Democratic National Committee here from California.

Looks like ubber-libber Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is going to be the new leader and chairwoman of the troubled DNC for the 2012 election cycle.

Yep.  President Barack Obama picked Wasserman Schultz as the incoming chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.  The Democrats just announced the news just a couple of hours ago.

Wasserman Schultz, 44, is one of the "new crop" of "Obama Democrats" who rose to power in 2005 after see won a seat in the House of Representatives to Florida's 20th Congressional district (Fort Lauderdale, and as far south as Miami Beach).

She has her work cut out for her.  The Democratic National Party is a total mess.  I don't envy the job she is going to have to do to "clean house" over at the DNC and to get back on track after a horrible election cycle in 2010.

This is what concerns me.  How can she juggle being BOTH a MEMBER OF CONGRESS and a FULL TIME POLITICAL PARTY CHAIRPERSON?

Is Wasserman-Schultz going to do the "right thing" and resign her seat from Congress.  Trust me, she is going to have to dedicate at least 60 hours per week as Chair of the DNC. She is going to have to manage a new staff of hundreds of "political" organizers, and help oversee the upcoming 2012 Democratic Party Convention, and to help raise $1 Billion to keep the White House in the "blue" column,

How can she do the "work" of the people in Congress and be a full time political party chairperson?

She will succeed Tim Kaine as Chairman of the DNC. He is doing what most "ex-DNC" chairmen do. They run for another office.  Yep.  Kaine announced earlier Tuesday that he will run for U.S. Senate from Virginia in 2012.

Amazing.

I just got off the phone with Lt. Bale from the Los Angeles County Coroners Office and he told me that they DO HAVE know who the victim is, but they are not going to release his name due to "pending notification" of next to kin.

Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department arrived at the location, in a back alley, at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday when they discovered a "bullet ridden" body located inside of a vehicle.

Lt. Bale told me that the victim had "multiple" gun shots, and was pronounced dead at the scene.  It is believed that the deceased man is in his 20's.

This "strip center" includes a 7-Eleven, a dentist office, a nail shop, and bank ATM location.  As soon as the name of the victim is released, and any additional updates, I will post them here on my blog.  If you live in this area, please feel free to share your thoughts on my "comment" section below this blog post.

Cimarron Bernard Bell: Whittier Man Convicted in 2004 La Mirada Triple Murder Case, and One Other Killing

La Mirada, California.  Bedroom community. Scene of triple murder in 04.

NORWALK – A Whittier man accused of luring would-be buyers to his home through an auto sale magazine, then fatally shooting and robbing the men, was convicted today of capital murder.

Jurors deliberated for one day before convicting Cimarron Bernard Bell, 36, of four counts of first-degree murder, said Deputy District Attorney Todd Hicks of the Major Crimes Division, who co-prosecuted the case with Deputy District Attorney Michele Hanisee.

Jurors additionally found true special circumstance allegations of multiple murders, lying in wait and murder for financial gain, plus a special allegation of personal use of a handgun.

Norwalk Superior Court Judge Dewey Falcone said the penalty phase of the trial will begin on April 11 in Department W of Norwalk Court.

The trial for co-defendant Briaell Michael Lee, 28, is slated to take place later this year.

On Jan. 30, 2004, the bodies of Mario Larios, 23, and Edgar Valles, 22, both of West Covina, and Fernando Piña, 25, who was visiting from Mexico, were discovered inside a Mercedes Benz that had been left in a La Mirada parking lot. The complaint alleged the men were killed on Jan. 27, 2004.

Evidence presented at trial revealed that Bell placed an advertisement for a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in an auto sale magazine for the purpose of luring would-be buyers, whom he intended to kill and rob. Bell fatally shot two of the victims and co-defendant Lee allegedly shot one of the men.

Bell also was convicted for the Nov. 11, 2003 murder of Ineka Edmonson, 22. Bell believed Edmonson – one of the defendant’s girlfriends who had partnered with him in a stolen-check-cashing scheme – was stealing from him.

Edmonson died from three close-range gunshot wounds to the head.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors did a good thing today when they approved a $100,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the two suspects who brutally attacked San Francisco Giant fan Bryan Stow shortly after the game ended.

The attack stunned on lookers. More than 100 people apparently saw the attack, yet the two suspects managed to get away. How is that possible? Why is Dodger Stadium so violent?

Last time I went to Dodger Stadium (late last season), I witnessed at least 15 fights IN ONE game between rowdy drunken fans.

Time for the LAPD to start cracking down on the bad behavior at Dodger Stadium since LA Dodger owner Frank McCourt and his inept management are incapable of keeping US FORMER DODGER fans safe.

I refuse to attend any event at Dodger Stadium.

You literally feel like you take your life in your own hands as soon as you pay the $30 parking fee.  Way too expensive.  Way too out of control.

So much for being "fan friendly."

Dodgers also have four "half off" beer and Dodger Dogs promotion days coming up in a thirty day period.  No thanks.

I'll pass.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital to treat a massive head injury.

Stowe is still in critical, but stable condition.

The other two victims were treated for minor injuries and released at scene.

The idiot suspects are described as two male Hispanics between 18 to 25 years-old, wearing Dodger clothing.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Northeast Detectives L. Burcher or P.J. Morris at 213-847-4261. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). TORRANCE – A 22-year-old El Segundo man accused of fatally stabbing his former roommate was charged with murder today, the District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Haralambos Zoumberakis of the Torrance Branch Office said David Concool is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in Department 4 of Torrance Superior Court. Concool is charged in case No. YA080719.

Concool is charged with one count of murder with an allegation that he personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon, a knife.

Weeks before the murder, the victim, James Floyd Dukes, had asked the defendant to move out. Subsequently, the defendant allegedly took the victim’s vehicle without his permission. The victim had made arrangements with the defendant to get his car back on the day of the attack, the prosecutor said.

On March 30, Concool allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times at the corner of 165th Street and Firmona Avenue in Lawndale.

The recommended bail for Concool is $1 million. If convicted as charged, Concool faces life in prison with the possibility of parole.

An upscale enclave in Sylmar, California was the scene of a wild 18 hour ordeal that resulted in a the death of a suspect accused of "domestic violence," the shooting of a well respected and longtime Los Angeles Police Department officer, and the bulldozing of a very pricey two story residence.

The suspect, Sergio O. Salazar, listed as 53 years of ago, apparently began a domestic dispute against his wife and when members of the Los Angeles Police Department arrived, Salazar was barricaded inside the large salmon colored two story residence.

Praying for Officer Jenkins tonight!  Hang in there!
The LAPD had to literally bring out a "bulldozer" and knocked down parts of the home in order to get Salazar.   During the operation, an exchange of gun fire broke out that resulted in the shooting of longtime Officer Steven Jenkins.

Jenkins is lucky to be alive tonight.  He was rushed to an area hospital where he has already undergone  surgery to deal with two bullet wounds, one landing in his face and the other in his upper body.

The above coverage is from two of the best television news teams in Los AngelesNBC LA, and  KTLA.  For my readers in Europe, Africa, South America and on the East Coast, this was the TOP news story of the day here in Southern California.  Lots of "live coverage" throughout this day long ordeal.

I always wonder what goes through the minds of people who think that they can get into a shooting match with members of the Los Angeles Police Department or the LA County Sheriff's Department.

...praying for both officer Jenkins, and for his his family, and for the victims including the wife of the shooter.  Domestic violence is one of the biggest taboos in our society.  Share your thoughts in my comment section.

Obamanation, USA

Here we go.  Campaign 2012 is now OFFICIALLY underway.

Yep.  President Obama just sent out his "FIRST" official campaign web mail to anxious supporters that touts his accomplishments, his hopes for another term, and oh yeah,  money.  He wants your Obanma Bucks for his campaign kitty, and that means "pronto."  Slick clip is called "It Begins With Us."   Huh?  Serious.  Actually look for a parody to be launched within hours by the GOP claiming "It Begins With YOUR MONEY!"

This is what Team Obama placed on their official "You Tube Page" just a couple of minutes ago:

"The politics we believe in starts not with expensive TV ads or extravaganzas, but with you — with people organizing block-by-block, talking to neighbors, co-workers and friends.

And that kind of campaign takes time to build. So even though the race may not reach full speed for a year or more, the work of laying the foundation for our campaign must start today.

In the coming days, supporters like you will begin forging a new organization that we'll build together in cities and towns across the country. And we'll need you to help shape our plan as we create a campaign that's farther reaching, more focused, and more innovative than anything we've built before.

We'll start by doing something unprecedented: coordinating millions of one-on-one conversations between supporters across every single state, reconnecting old friends, inspiring new ones to join the cause, and readying ourselves for next year's fight."

Whatcha talkin' bout?

 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Time has arrived to get out your checkbooks, or ATM cards are start pouring in the loot to "Team Obama."

I would say The Prez and his "political committees" are going to have to chip in at least $1,000,000,000.00 to  keep the White House "blue" in 2012.

Get ready.  Special Interests CAN'T WAIT.  Lobbyists  are lined up over where the Cherry Blossoms are blooming today, with check books in their hands!

Remember, this "tour" for Sheen is all about repairing his "perceived" damaged image and to give him a "platform" and a "podium" to speak directly to his maniac fan base.

The concerts last night in Detroit, and Sunday in Chicago were received in direct contrast of one and other. Here are the latest "vid" clips from the Sheen tour tonight in Chicago.

Mostly cheers. Not many boos. Controlled interview format. Standing Ovation. Yep. Charlie Sheen lives another day.

What a great moment for India.

The biggest celebration of all will be tonight in Mumbai, where Cricket star Sachin Tendulkar is currently being carried around the field on the shoulders of his team-mates.

India has just won the 2011 Cricket World Cup Finals, and this is the first year that I actually followed this sport and I am thrilled to now call myself a "cricketeer."

This is the first year that I have followed the Cricket World Cup, and India has just bested rival Sri Lanka for the 2011 title. It is NOW OVER!

Incredible match to follow. I have been watching a live stream on the internet, since no cable network here on the West Coast of the United States actually covered the match live.

BBC India is having live updates.

I can't imagine the joy that must be filling the streets and neighborhoods around both India and Sri Lanka right now.  BTW.  Artesia, California (the heart of my hometown of Cerritos) is the home to Little India here in the United States.  Pioneer Boulevard will be full of joy and excitement today!  What a proud moment!
