There have been two major earthquakes to hit the Japan and Alaska area within the past few hours. Damage is being reported in Japan, while no damage is being reported in the Southern part of the Alaskan islands.

Scary scene is unfolding tonight in a popular high school in Wisconsin. A student with a gun is holding an unknown number of people hostage in a classroom at Marinette High School.
No injuries have been reported, and police are at the scene, and this is a broadcast clip from the Fox News affiliate in that area.
If you are a parent who has a student at this school, and you cannot get in contact with your child, you are being asked to go to the Marinette County Courthouse Jury Assembly Room (located in the basement of the Annex).
Lets keep our thoughts and prayers this comes to a quick ending.

SAN FERNANDO –
Mark Stephen Hubbard, that 51-year-old high ex-school teacher from Hillcrest Christian School in Granda Hills has been formally charged with engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage student this afternoon.
If convicted as charged, Hubbard faces a maximum state prison term of 15 years, eight months
Hubbard is charged in case No. PA069008, filed for warrant on Nov. 24.
Hubbard appeared for arraignment at San Fernando Superior Court this morning, but his arraignment was postponed until Dec. 13 in Department 130. Hubbard’s bail was set at $1 million.
The felony complaint alleges that the crimes occurred between April and November 2010 and involve one victim. The defendant was employed at Hillcrest Christian School in Granada Hills where the victim was a student.
During the past couple of weeks, I have spoke to many people from this campus and have received dozens of notes, and letters.
What is the reaction from the community on this indictment? Share your thoughts? I will keep you posted on additional details. I would also like to invite the representatives of Mr. Hubbard to respond to this indictment.

Speaking of teen heartthrobs from the past.
Is David Cassidy about to be the latest "viral video" star for his drunk driving arrest earlier this month? His much talked about arrest video has hit You Tube today. Watch the police dashboard camera video. The ex "Partridge Family" hottie was pulled over in Fort Pierce, Florida earlier this month by State Troopers.
My prediction, watch for Cassidy to be appearing in an upcoming edition of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky." Thank goodness no one was injured or killed. Stop and think before you drive drunk. This is nothing to joke about.
397,435,234 people can't be all that crazy. Today I became the latest person to officially catch "Bieber Fever" here in our world around us and I actually caved in and watched "Baby" by the mega mite Justin Bieber . What the heck is going on? Now I get it. Get me my hairdryer, its on.
Inside the store, customers still were going about their business of picking up gift items for the holiday season. I was having dinner at the world's famous "Wood's Ranch Restaurant" with my mom, and our friend Rae (visiting us from Australia) and my bro Martin Garnier when all the commotion broke out.
Amazing show of force from our Cerritos Sheriff's. Remember, it is SAFE to "SHOP CERRITOS!"

The son of Martha Pena who was critically injured in this crash has been ided as Walter Pena, age 20.
Walter is in critical condition at County USC Hospital. The family is at his bedside.

We know know the name of the victim who died during that horrific car crash into the Troy's Burgers restaurant yesterday.
Martha Peña, age 52 of the Highland Park area was killed when a car crashed into the restaurant. Her son was also injured along with at least 3 others. No charges have been filed against the woman who crashed her vehicle into the popular eatery.

This is so sad, and we all need to keep this family in our Prayers today!

The 605 Freeway can be downright deadly. Saturday was a horrific reminder of just how fatal this part of our world truly is. Two men died when they were hit by a passing car when they were attempting to change a tire in the Irwindale area....
So sad to see these type of accidents...
Killed were Pedro Pedroza, 43, of Azusa and Ricardo Beltran, a West Covina (age not available). They both died at the scene. It is being reported that the men were actual related (uncle and nephew).
According to logs from the California Highway Patrol's website (a great resource for every motorist here in the Golden State) the accident was reported at 11:13 a.m. on the southbound 605 Freeway, just south of Arrow Highway.
The men had just finished changing a tire and were putting away their tools when they were struck by a Ford Taurus. Pedroza died at the scene, and Beltran passed away from his injuries at County USC Hospital. No arrests were made.
Such a tragedy for this family. I hope everyone can keep them in your Prayers. Remember, if you have a problem on the freeway like a flat tire, the best solution is to call 911. Do not attempt to change the tire yourself. Remain calm. Be safe.
Starting at Hollywood Blvd and Orange, the U-shaped Parade Route will travel east to Vine, south on Vine to Sunset Boulevard and west on Sunset, back to Orange.

I love a parade, and I totally look forward to the annual Hollywood Christmas Parade each and every year. Yep, here comes Santa Claus right down Hollywood Boulevard.
CNN'S LARRY KING
Here is the scoop of this years street gala that will begin at 6 p.m. at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Orange Avenue in Hollywood. CNN's mega legend Larry King will be the Grand Marshall. I also love seeing my long time pal Eric Garcetti, and his amazing wife Amy Wakeland Garcetti in this parade. Eric represents Hollywood and has done a remarkable job for all the "peeps" around this part of our hood. :) Looks like Eric Estrada and Laura McKenzie are the hosts for the television broadcast....
The length of this year’s parade route is two and one half miles.
Approximately 2,000 people will be participating in this year’s parade.
10,000 square feet of Red Carpet will blanket Hollywood Boulevard in front of the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
The Parade will be a literal “live set” for the television taping area for the national telecasts where the parade will begin its route.

Newsreel footage of the parade taken from in front of Musso and Frank's. (I'd have filmed from the other side of the street so I could sneak into Boarder's for a nip, between floats) It must be old because it describes the parade as "Star Studded." I've been going for nearly 15 years. Dan Haggerty, Larry Miller of Sit N Sleep, and 5 hobos Fox gave wine vouchers to in Simpsons Costumes are as big as it gets. (And that was when Johnny Grant was with us, using his 'clout.') It is a beautiful, old tradition, that MUST be maintained. I just wish someone other than Scientology and Univision would support it. Comparing aged, celebrated, storied, parades, Pasadena has a right to act snobby.

Are we about to see a new "conflict" or possible all out "war" to breakout in the Korean Peninsula?
As I write this blog post, South Korea and the United States are assembling ships for joint "war exercises" y off the west coast of Korea in the Yellow Sea.
I have been following this scary situation for the past week. My hometown of Cerritos has one of the biggest concentrations of Korean immigrants living here in our wonderful enclave. My dear friend, Dr. Joseph Cho, PhD is an expert on the two "Korea's" war possibilities, and he is also our current Mayor here in my community.
My father, the late William R. "Dick" Economy served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict some 60 years ago. I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for the People of Korea...and I recall fondly the many stories my dad use to share with me and my brother Rick when we were growing up here in Gardena and Cerritos.
Not sure where all of this will end.
All I know is that the world around us needs to pay attention to this growing and very dangerous situation. What are your thoughts? I want to hear from my readers! Hit my comment section below.

Popular Palos Verdes businessman and community leaderChuck Chambers will be remembered in a special memorial celebration on Sunday at "Rat Beach."
The event will begin at 3 p.m.
Friends, family and acquaintances of Chambers, who was only 58 years old when he died in that tragic plane crash last week at Newport Beach "Back Bay" will gather to share stories and celebrate his life. Also killed in that crash were Russ Urban, 63, of Rancho Palos Verdes, and Sean Martin Kelly, 44, of Hermosa Beach.
Kelly was laid to rest this morning. Urban's ashes will be scattered off of Catalina Island during the next few weeks.
The memorial will begin at 3 p.m. at Seaside Grill, located near the bicycle path at "Rat Beach," where Chambers spent hours surfing and walking.
Fellow pilots will do a flyover. It should be an emotion send off for a wonderful man...

The Los Cerritos Center was the scene of a scary "incident" at around 2 a.m. this morning over by the "Food Court" that temporarily placed the world famous shopping enclave on a "temporary lock down."
Eyewitness News here in Los Angeles posted this news report about on the details of of what took place, Darsha Phillips is reporting.

I spoke to an official at our Cerritos Sheriff's Station this morning, and he assured me that it was "not gun shots" that were fired, and the "situation" was quickly brought under control, and no one was reported to be injured.
Some people who were in the Mall told me that they heard what sounded like "two or three loud bangs."
Here is what one of my readers, a longtime Cerritos resident wrote me, who does not want to be identified (but I have known her and her family for over 35 years....)
"My two family members were shopping inside the Children's Orchard (near the Food Court) and heard two or three loud noises and then people started running everywhere."
They also tell me that it was "like a stampede" in that that part of the mall. Several stores reported that displays were knocked over due to the commotion.
"There was a side exit, that people were trying to go out of and everyone was scared," my reader told me.

I love Thanksgiving. Totally adore this mega food fest of a day. Having 11 friends over for a great feast here in my hood of Cerritos, California. Crisp temps right now in LA. Down in the high 20's tonight. Got the heater blasting, and the extra "comforter" is on the bed....
We love our Thanksgiving traditions here in So. Cal. Ahhh. Wait. I'm thinking. Is standing in line at the local Wal-Mart for 35 hours an "L.A. tradition" for Thanksgiving? Is going to Whole Foods for "take out" a new trend that will be sweeping the USA for years to follow...?
Sadly, we are lacking Thanksgiving traditions around this part of America. That is why I love being glued to television for Thanksgiving. Sorry, I am an NBC devotee. (I have had a secret love affair with Al Rooker for eons....lol).
Besides my mom's amazing turkey dressing, the other highlight of my day will be watching the Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from New York City. Yep. We love the Macy's Parade here in Southern California, and this years event looks like it is going to be fantastic.
Today marks the 84th Annual Macy's Parade. It will be a crowd-pleasing spectacle that features 1,600 cheerleaders, dancers, singers and performers; 800 clowns; 15 giant character helium balloons; 35 novelty/ornament balloons, balloon heads and balloonicles; 12 marching bands; 27 floats; and a host of celebrity performers.
Look for lots of new "arrivals" to the giant balloon lineup...Diary of A Wimpy Kid — which at 60-feet long and 56-feet tall is anything but "wimpy" — and Kung Fu Panda which was created using more than half a mile of fabric.
The float lineup includes seven new additions, including the holiday quest on board Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure; the dance party on Elves Raise the Roof; the scrumptious delights on board the Home Baked Goodness float; the historical significance of Mount Rushmore's American Pride; the adorable traveling duck family of the On the Roll Again float; the icy beauty of the Snow Queen; and the legendary stage of the Top Hat! float.
Also making her debut is a balloon version of the animated Virginia O'Hanlon, the 8-year old girl who taught the world to believe when she wrote a letter to the editor that elicited the world-known response, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." The community of El Monte misses Hector Urias. He loved the holiday season, and always put his family and community first and foremost! If you recall, Urias, a standout businessman, a race car enthusiast, former standout athlete and "hometown" hero to many in the San Gabriel Valley, was gunned down in September while he was finishing work at his popular auto repair shop.
Moments before dawn on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010, Urias was discovered shot to death inside his business.
I blogged about this in the past, and wanted to follow up. Everyone in El Monte loved this man. Now, WE have a possible lead in this case.
Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have released a "sketch" of a man they would like to find in connection with the horrific crime, and I have been asked to pass this information along to the community and to my readers. If you recall, Urias was last seen alive by one of his employees who left work around 7:00 p.m. on September 7, 2010.
Urias was expected to play basketball in a community league at 9:00 p.m. that night, but he never showed up for the game. Family members became concerned when he didn't make it home that evening and they went looking for him. He was discovered just before dawn when they checked the shop. Detectives learned that witnesses heard gunshots in the vicinity of the auto shop shortly after 7:00 p.m. on the 7th, but the gunshots were not reported to authorities. Detectives recently located a witness who saw a male Hispanic adult walking through the parking lot of the business shortly after the business closed for the day.
The witness with the assistance of the Sheriff's Department's sketch artist was able to provide a likeness of this individual, which I posted here on my blog.
Sheriff's Investigators are considering this individual a "person of interest" and are asking the public's assistance in identifying him.
