LONG BEACH - Are the deaths of popular Long Beach car enthusiasts Jason and Amy Walston a murder-suicide?
Long Beach Police officials are investigating their tragic deaths as a "possible murder-suicide."
Local park rangers found the body of Jason Walston, 38, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the popular El Dorado Park off of the 605 Freeway and Studebaker Road at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Police said they found a gun lying nearby. His body was found near a tree.
Later, when law enforcement went to the Walston;s home (1900 block of Lees Avenue) to notify his family, they found the lifeless body of his wife, Amy Walston, 35found.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office is conducting an autopsy on Amy Walston's to determine the time and exact cause of her death. As soon as they release additional information to the media, I will post it....
The couple also has a 4-year-old daughter who was not harmed. I am not going to publish her name out of the respect of privacy and the tragic nature of this still developing case. I ask that you keep this little girl in your thoughts and prayers today....
According to their company website (www.IconicAutomotive.com) , the Walston's were the "proud" owners of Iconic Automotive, which appears to be a "high end" car restoration business.

I have known Amy Walston for nearly 6 years through our sorority alumnae group plus worked with her on the house corp. board. We even emailed last week about plans for a fall tailgate at a UCLA game. Amy had so much going on -- wonderful mom, career, volunteering, travel and car shows with her husband and daughter. I am devastated and saddened by this tragic news.
Amy was my sorority sister at UCLA. She was always smiling and laughing, and always such a great friend. She literally was always there for you when you needed her. I still can't believe she's gone and in this senseless way. She was always trying to get Chi Omegas together, planning tailgates for UCLA games. We had just gone to one in November, reconnecting after a few years, as I had just moved back to L.A. We had just gone to dinner together in May and just two months ago, she and her husband had met me at Legends in Long Beach to catch a World Cup game. I still in utter disbelief. She will be greatly missed. Please say a prayer for her and her daughter who she leaves behind.
I worked with Amy for several years at an environmental consulting firm. She was a very good person to work with, always with a smile and some interesting insights. I am in shock at this news, this is very very sad. I will miss her.
i am a new friend of amy's. my dauther is best friends with hers from their pre-school. i bonded with amy instantly and wish i could do something, anything, to change what happened, but what can i do? i just don't understand why this happened and feel so upset and worried for their daughter.
I work for the web design company that created their website, www.iconicautomotive.com. They seemed like such a happy little family, so nice and kick back. I can't believe something so tragic happened to them. My heart goes out to their daughter and family.
I have known Amy for 17 years and have known Jason as well ever since they were married. They were a perfect couple and both great people. This doesn't make a lick of sense and I am so sad for little Hannah. I am floored and can't make any sense of how this came to be.

to the person who worked for the web company who designed the iconicautomotive site, you might want to delve a bit into what's going on with the website. i am in the vintage VW business and as far as i know the couple were pretty much the entire company. it seems like as of today you could still place an online order on the site, which could be a problem for unknowing customers.
Amy was my cousin...she will be missed dearly. but she will never be forgotten , you will be in our hearts forever..and your wonderful live will live on through little Hannah! LOVE YOU CUZ!
I have known Amy since I was about 3 or 4. I haven't been in touch with her for years but had the pleasure of catching up with her mom earlier this year looking at family pictures. This tragedy has be quiet a shock to me and my family. My mom remembers Amy, Marley, and I running around our backyard in the sprinklers completely naked! It was a much happier time being so young and carefree. I will miss you!
I worked with Amy at the environmental consulting firm and she was always a pleasure...no hint of anything wrong in her personal life which is why this is such a terrible shock. Hoping her daughter and family are dealing with their grief as well as can be expected.
Moderator, can you delete that last comment on Friday, September 03. This person clearly doesn't know the victim or he/she would use better choices in their words. It's very insensitive to a very sensitive subject. Im sad she's gone. I hate to think about it. I haven't seen her since I was a teenager and it aches to think that girl is gone.
Thanks for the note, and I took that comment off. I am still upset and saddened by this entire situation. I hope all of Amy and Jason's friends and family are getting through this difficult time. Prayers are still with everyone!
